Cookies

I love my fiancé but he made chocolate chip cookies yesterday. This is ok. I have told him he can make and eat whatever he wants as it is his choice, but for the love of God keep those choices away from me! Well, as the aroma of vanilla and sweet chocolate hit the air I was finding my inner strength.

In his defense I had made low carb French toast, and made the place smell like vanilla and cinnamon. I offered to make him some, but he didn’t want any, and an hour later he dug into the cupboard and pulled out some cookie mix. Mer.

My love, as thoughtful and considerate as he is offered me his deliciously smelling cookies. I refused them like a suborned child, shaking my head back in forth in a furious no. He still insisted I partake in his late evening snack but I held my ground. “One cookie is not going to hurt you babe”, he said. “Yes it is!!!” I replied almost near panicking tone. I wanted the cookie. But I knew if I ate that cookie I would be farther from my goal, and I have already made a few side trips. He looked at me and smiled and said “ok, I will eat it”.

Fast forward, to this morning I got up late (I must have hit snooze) my honey got up with me. I proceeded to run around like a chicken with my head cut off, as he made me breakfast. He made me bacon and eggs and got my coffee going. I thanked him, as he is always so helpful and there when I need him, even for the lil things that I never ask him to do, but he just does.

ROUND TWO OF THE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

As I am putting on my coat ready to leave for work he gives me a run down in what he put in my bag…..”Water, diet soda, your bacon and eggs…and oh yeah I added a packet of the cookies to” he says. What the heck……I am thinking to myself…..I look at him ( as I curse the cookies) and tell him “Hon, I really can not have the sugar, please leave the cookies here for you to enjoy” Followed by a look that says…I mean it! (But I still love you) So he looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and said ok…and removed the offensive cookies out of my bag. I kissed him and ran to my Jeep, thinking to myself…..I did well.

When I got to work this morning in a staff meeting we were celebrating a co-workers birthday……There was a huge chocolate cake. Mer. I took my slice and immediately gave it away to a student. I plan to keep to my low carb life style. So far so good!!!
