Happy New Years!!!! 2009 is going to rock!

It is a new year and thus makes me feel like it is a new beginning in a sense. 2008 was not bad, but something in my gut tells me 2009 will be better. It just wait and see.....

Since I have had time off work you think I would be writing more blogs......but no, even with time off and plenty of time I seem to still have no time left at all.

Since I lasted blogged I have gone to a specialist for my severe finger deforming arthritis and That DR. thinks I have a form of rheumatoid arthritis called Ankylosing Spondylitis (pronounced ankle-low-zing spond-ill-eye-tiss)Which is a lovely from of arthritis to have as your bone fuses together and can make your whole body stiff. I will know more on Jan 7th... So yeah not so great news...had more blood test and actually got some x-rays done and that was pretty cool. I really am trying to keep positive guys so hang in there with me!

I have my gastric bypass consult on Jan 6th and I am not sure what to expect. I am apprehensive. I am a bit stressed/ excited about it. I know it will help me get to a normal weight(I think I almost saw this illusive creature "normal weight" back in 1990's) I know it is a quite drastic measure. I know it will not be easy, and I know there will be moments where I question my decision. But I know in the long run it may save my life. My health is been so poopy lately I am willing to give major surgery a try, It will not cure my severe arthritis....but it will help get all the extra weight off my joints. It will defin clear up all my other aliments so that is really cool, and a plus.

I am truly blessed to have the family and friends that I have. I am not one to keep things private, so all my family/friends know about my intentions with the gastric bypass weight loss surgery. All of my family and friends has been more than supportive. My fiance has been very supportive as well. That man has a heart of gold.

Anyhow,The gastric route is invasive it is also the most effective in losing weight and keeping the weight off. I am a large girl and if any one is going to mess with my insides I want it to stick and be worth the time and effort (on everyone's part)But enough on that. I will defin update again on Jan 6th...after my consult.

Now back to the New Years! It is going to rock.....I feel it in my bones (lol) I am not going to make any new years resolutions because I always make the same lose weight.

This year I am going to do something new and just count my blessings. Though life for me (health wise) is not so great. I can't ignore the fact that I do have some great people in my life. I have the best fiance I could ever imagine....I have an awesome family who have been so supportive and always supportive of me and my adventures, I have great friends who are my true best friends that just know how to make me laugh. I have the unconditional love of three cats that are my fur kids. I have a roof over my head, I have a job (though not currently working) and health insurance (a big plus). I have a good life. Here is to another year of blessings......things can only get better!

Good luck with your doctor's appt. I had the surgery 3 years ago and I've had no problems since. I am actually seeing a doctor Thursday to schedule my post tummy tuck...It took a year but my insurance company finally approved that part of the surgery.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. When you see your doctor my advice to you is lie about anything and everything regarding the diets you've tried etc. I had to jump through hoops for years to get it covered, but I didn't back down...and you shouldn't either. Oh gosh I could sit here and fill your comment box with suggestions, but like I said, if you have any questions or want some help to get it covered let me know.

Best of luck to you!
